Experience the Magic of Parade of Hearts 2026

Kansas City has once again launched the Parade of Hearts, a public art event that honors creativity and culture. This year, there are more than 100 handcrafted heart sculptures displayed outdoors across the Kansas City area. Lizzy and I have turned it into a scavenger hunt to locate these hearts. We typically only photographed one side of the hearts, as the artwork on the back is often different.

Hopes & Struggles - Liberty, MO

This heart was among the first we discovered and was also installed on the opening day of the Parade of Hearts. It is situated near Busy Bean, a play cafe.

Heart of the Game - Raymore, MO

We were heading home when we came across this just before a thunderstorm. Lizzy noticed it and requested a photo.

Intertwined - Kansas City, MO

In front of Alice Scooper's Ice Cream is this heart. We paused for celebratory ice cream after Lizzy's first dance recital.

While we were driving to get gas for the car, Lizzy noticed this one. So naturally, we had to take a picture or two.

The Heart of Change - INSIDE Union Station - Kansas City, MO

This is the sole heart I am aware of that is located within a building. You can make donations to the Ronald McDonald House. Lizzy is feigning sleep.

Two States, One City - Kansas City, MO

Situated just outside Union Station near the streetcar stop, Lizzy and I were on our way to discover many more hearts today.

Paris of the Plains - Kansas City, MO

We discovered this on our journey to the downtown Kansas City Library. The library features a pleasant children's section where we took a short break before resuming our search for hearts.

Welcome to the Party!! - Kansas City, MO

Lizzy mentioned that this one was so amazing that she had to strike an epic pose for it. We picked this up at the River Market.

Crown Jewel of the Heartland - Kansas City, MO

So far, this is Lizzy's favorite heart. It was the final heart we discovered during our downtown exploration of hearts, and there's still much more in downtown Kansas City that we haven't seen yet.

KC Lake Life - Smithville, MO

This heart wasn't part of our plans. We intended to visit a thrift store, but it was closed because of a car show. However, Lizzy noticed the heart, and naturally, we had to take a picture. She insisted that Michael be in the photo since he had only seen a few hearts before.

Rhythm & Harmony - Peculiar, MO

Michael and I tried a winery we hadn't been to in a few years. Kinda spur of the moment decision to just leave Lizzy with the grandparents for a quick little date in the afternoon. The atmosphere was how we remembered but the wine not so much.
